John Ward Ceylon Complete MBO
The Executive Directors of John Ward Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd reached an agreement to
purchase the shares of the company’s major shareholder John Ward & Sons (Group) Ltd of UK on 10th May 2005.
The Board of Directors and Shareholders now consist of;

Established in Sri Lanka, as a BOI company at IPZ Katunayake in 1993 with the then Chairman Peter Ward of John Ward & Sons (Group) Ltd, the company manufacturing a range of high quality industrial gloves, has gone from strength to strength.
Exporting to over 40 countries world wide, it was one of the first companies in Sri Lanka to be awarded the ISO 9001:2000 International Standard Quality System and more recently ISO 14001:1996 Environmental System.
Despite severe competition from China, the company has established itself as a quality and innovative manufacturer. Its strength lies in its ability
to change and to react quickly to market needs and its commitment to a strong R&D programme, thereby constantly striving to improve its quality and bring new products to the market and at the same time remaining competitive in price. Such is the case with the recent development of a new range of MAXIFLEX gloves with a micro foam breathable coating, of which sales are increasing month by month. With its dedicated workforce and highly qualified and experienced management team, the future looks bright, so much so that the company will substantially increase its production capacity over the coming months.

The company will once again be launching a range of new products at the forthcoming A+A Industrial Safety Trade Fair held at Dusseldorf Germany in October of this year.
Special thanks go to the team at NDB Bank for the professional and timely manner in which negotiations were concluded and the company’s Finance Manager Mr. Riyazi Muzammil who was often at the sharp end of the negotiations.
Thanks to lawyers on both sides namely Nithya Partners, Dissanayake Amaratunga Associates, John Wilson Partners and Higgs and Sons (UK).
Last, but by no means least, the Executive Directors give very special thanks and appreciation to Peter Ward who had the confidence and foresight to establish the company back in 1993 and for his continued support thereafter until his retirement.
